Deleting your data
You can permanently delete your Lao Family Tree account and personal data at any time. Here’s how.
Delete your account yourself
- Log in at laofamilytree.com.
- Open the user menu (your avatar, top-right) and go to Settings.
- Open the Danger zone tab and choose Delete account.
- Confirm by typing the confirmation phrase and your password.
If you signed up with Google or Facebook, you can revoke Lao Family Tree’s access from that provider’s settings as well.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account it is first soft-deleted for 30 days — during this window you can ask us to restore it if the deletion was a mistake. After 30 days your personal data (profile, avatar images, login credentials, and account record) is permanently removed. Contributions to shared family records may be retained as family history but are no longer linked to your account.
Need help, or no longer have access?
